Cal King size bed by Gio Ponti, executed by Giordano Chiesa, c.1950s, Italy. This one of a kind piece was commissioned by the Ceccato family, owners of the popular confectionary empire, Dulciora, for their residence in Milan. The bed is comprised of Ferrara root walnut and curly birch. The headboard is outfitted with six different lighting elements, all finished with brass detailing. The bed also showcases two ashtrays, two lighters, shelving, drawers for storage and a magazine rack. The tufted green velvet cushion has been newly reupholstered. Each foot of the bedframe is capped with a brass sleeve.
