Hans Wegner Valet Chair
The iconic three legged Valet Chair designed by Hans J. Wegner for Johannes Hansen. The original four legged piece was conceived by Wegner after a discussion with his colleagues about issues with how to fold one’s clothing at the end of the day. He finalized the three legged design in 1953 and it became one of his most collectible designs for Johannes Hansen. The piece features oak legs and backrest with a sculpted teak seat and brass hinge accents. The backrest features flared out arms that are meant to hold a shirt or jacket and the seat folds up to allow a storage area for small belongings. Marked with Johannes Hansen stamp on underside.
