Precious Woods

Prized for their beauty and durability, slow-growing tropical hardwoods display stunning grain pattern and are generally rot resistant due to the humid environments in which they thrive. While there are many spectacular examples in this collection - bocote, lacewood, zebrawood, and cocobolo, to name a few - the undisputed champion is rosewood. Due to stringent international regulations on its uses, most vintage furniture made of this highly figured wood and its relatives are illegal to export, adding an additional dimension of value, rarity, and significance to their undeniable aesthetic appeal.
