Eames for Herman Miller Seating System in Brick Red
A tandem sling airport bench designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller. In 1962 Charles and Ray Eames were commissioned to design a modular seating system for the Chicago O’Hare and Washington D.C. Dulles airports. They based the design for the sling seating upholstery on the Aluminum Group suite of office chairs. This bench features a polished aluminum frame with five brick red vinyl upholstered seats and black armrests. It is divided into a grouping of three seats on one side and another two opposing seats, with an attached sleek and minimal laminate side table separating the two. The side table can be unattached.
