Belgian Modernist Candlesticks in Cast Brass
A pair of cast brass candlesticks from 1970s Belgium. The slender silhouette has a sculptural body with irregular negative space at the center, widening at the foot to a rectangular base. The outer brass is lacquered with a glossy finish; the contrasting irregular edges have a darkened patina. A narrow hole at the top of each is sized to hold a European-style taper candle. Stamped with interlocking "A" artist insignia and edition number 4/50.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Some pitting to brass near base of each candlestick. Takes a ¼” taper.
