Dining Set by Carlo Bartoli and Anna Castelli Ferrieri for Kartell
A modest dining set from Kartell, comprising the four Sedie 4875 by Carlo Bartoli and Anna Castelli Ferrieri’s square Tavola 4300, designed in 1974 and 1982, respectively. Injection-molded in the company’s signature plastic, both designs in the chunky grouping feature exaggerated round legs. The chair seats have an ergonomically molded, aerodynamic curve, the backs of which taper to a fine edge, in deliberate contrast with the heft of the legs. The post legs of the square table are attached to the top at four angled mounts with a distinct postmodern sense of geometry. Both designs are marked by Kartell; the table was manufactured in Italy and the chairs in the United States.
Condition: Good vintage condition; professionally cleaned and polished. The plastic has some yellowing from age and there is some wear to the enamel on the tabletop.
Dimensions: The table is a 31.5” square and stands 28” tall. Each chair measures 17” wide x 19.5” deep x 28” tall, with a seat height of 16.5”.
