Edmond Spence “Yucatan” Chair
“Yucatan” chair by Edmond Spence for Industria Mueblera in Mexico, c.1950s. The chair features a unique and hand sculpted Japanese-inspired interpretation of a traditional spindle back chair similar to the shape of Paul McCobb’s Planner Group chair or George Nakashima’s Grass Seat chair. The mahogany frame has an ebonized finish and the seat and back is woven with Danish paper cord in accordance with the original weave pattern.

Excellent restored condition; professionally refinished. New paper cord has been rewoven according to original design.
