Edmund Spence Set of Four “Yucatan” Chairs
Set of four “Yucatan” chairs by Edmund Spence for Industria Mueblera in Mexico, c.1950s. The chairs feature a unique and hand sculpted Japanese-inspired interpretation of a traditional spindle back chair similar to the shape of Paul McCobb’s Planner Group chair or George Nakashima’s Grass Seat chair. The mahogany frame has an ebonized finish and the seat and back are woven with Danish paper cord in accordance with the original weave pattern.

Condition
Excellent restored condition; professionally refinished. New paper cord has been rewoven according to original design.
