Raul Barbieri & Giorgio Marianelli for Tronconi Floor Lamp
Postmodern floor lamp by Raul Barbieri and Giorgio Marianelli for Tronconi, Italy, c.1976. The Postmodern design features a black enameled perforated steel shade that is attached to a chrome stem and supported by a weighted steel base. The shade is adjustable and pivots, and can be secured in place by a locking mechanism on the side of the shade. Lamp has been newly rewired with black cloth cord and features a push toe on/off switch.
Barbieri and Marianelli were an Italian industrial design duo that met in the early 1970s while working for Ettorre Sottsass. They developed a working relationship that involved product and furniture design for various companies, as well as architectural projects and worked together until their firm dissolved at the end of the 1980s.
