Fluted Porcelain Vase by Freidl Holzer-Kjellberg for Arabia of Finland
A wide-mouth vase by Austrian-Finnish ceramicist Freidl Holzer-Kjellberg for Arabia of Finland. Created using the traditional Chinese “rice grain” technique, the porcelain has small incisions made in an allover floral pattern that are then filled with translucent glaze. The result is a paper-thin vessel with a fetching, layered transparency. This example has a slightly fluted edge and a nearly-square mouth with rounded corners. Signed on foot, “Arabia FHK Made in Finland.”
