Low Hexagonal Table by André Simard
By Andre Simard
Deceptively simple construction is on display in this hexagonal end table by French designer André Simard from 1959. The wooden tabletop appears to float between three slender, flat legs of wood encased in enameled metal. Distinctive hardware joins the steel supports and legs. The design was the recipient of a Prix René Gabriel the year it debuted.
Condition: Excellent restored condition; wooden elements have been professionally refinished and legs repainted.
Dimensions: 31.5” length x 29” width x 14.25” height; tabletop measures 31.5” length x 27.25” width, with legs extending 1.75” from the sides and each side measuring 16” long.
