Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen Ax Chair for Fritz Hansen
Originally designed in 1947 by Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard Nielsen for Fritz Hansen, Denmark. This chair, made in the 1960s, features a bent beechwood frame with curved armrests. The legs have a stunning exposed teak detailing on their sculpted legs. The chair has been newly reupholstered in a wool Clarence House fabric - Hemingway Rouge Slate.
Hvidt & Mølgaard had an established design and architectural firm where they became pioneers in Danish design that advanced the industrialized production of furniture. They both retired in 1975, designing over 256 pieces of furniture together over the course of their careers.
