Ray and Charles Eames iconic folding screen for Herman Miller, in rosewood. When the harvesting of Brazilian rosewood became illegal in 1992, Herman Miller ceased purchasing it for their Eames lounge chairs. They took their remaining rosewood stock and created a limited edition of 500 folding screens. This example is from the early 1990s, and is a pre-production model from before Herman Miller did their limited run. The undulating design is composed of articulated panels of curved rosewood, joined by a webbed black fabric, for a high level of flexibility in positioning.
