Hand thrown studio pottery planter by California ceramics artist Robert Maxwell, c.1970s. This example has a tulip shape that flares at the lip. It is decorated with Maxwell's signature incised designs, of sunbursts and thumbprints. The interior and exterior of the planter is unglazed.
