Sergio Asti style black marble bowl, Spain, c.1970s. The hand carved object is made from Nero Marquina marble, a black marble with bright contrasting veining that is indigienous to certain regions of Spain. It is reminiscent of the marble accessories designed by Italian legends Sergio Asti and Angelo Mangiarotti.
This dish features an asymmetrical concave bowl opening that allows it to serve as a vide poche, catchall, or ashtray. Its sleek form and minimalist design, makes it the perfect decorative object.
