"Maria" Folding Gate-Leg Dining Table by Bruno Mathsson
Bruno Mathsson's 1936 design for a folding table is a marvel of engineering that stretches from a collapsed footprint of under 10 inches to a banquet table of over 100 inches. Produced by his family's company, Karl Mathsson, the gate-leg design allows three settings: collapsed, modest, and long, with a slim profile and horizontal lines in stained beech wood. Brass hardware contrasts with the dark wood and allows this piece its unique functionality.
