Teak Decorative Bowl
A hand carved teak bowl from the Jamaican Salvation Army School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, c.1970s. According to the Salvation Army School, the students are taught to see with the eyes of the heart so that they absorb hope and achievement as opposed to doubt and despair. Positive self-esteem is a vital lesson. This bowl was designed with that philosophy in mind.
