Yngve Ekström Lamino Chair and Ottoman with Sheepskin Upholstery
The “Lamino” Easy Chair, designed in 1951 by Yngve Ekström and manufactured by his company, Swedese, based outside of Nässjö, is widely considered to be Sweden’s favorite chair. The chair has a high back with an angled headrest and delicately splayed legs. Petal-shaped armrests are impressed on the curved arms. The entire frame is formed from molded and laminated oak, with brass hardware. The seat is upholstered in the original warm brown sheepskin. This example has the matching ottoman, and both pieces retain the burnt-in Swedese logo.
