When two design-focused brands meet—one rooted in curated, vintage-inspired furnishings and the other in architectural storytelling—the result is nothing short of elevated harmony. Our recent collaboration with Ome Dezin is a study in quiet luxury, natural materials, and thoughtful intention. Together, we’ve co-created a space (and a sofa) that is not only beautiful, but deeply livable.
A Design Journey Grounded in Place
Every design begins with a sense of place. For Ome Dezin, inspiration flows from the very walls of a home—its history, its light, its architecture. “We begin every design journey by honoring the property’s architecture and history,” they shared. “That sense of context guides our creative direction.”
This reverence for the bones of a space extends to the materials chosen: natural wood, marble, metal, plaster, stone, and ceramic. These elements don’t just decorate—they anchor a space. Their neutral, tactile presence creates a backdrop where textures can speak, and personality can emerge through thoughtful layering.
A Sofa That Speaks the Language of Materials
The Kenter Sofa, our collaborative centerpiece, is wrapped in a stormy grey mohair—soft, luminous, and surprisingly resilient. “Mohair, derived from the Angora goat, is a luxurious and durable natural fiber,” explains Ome Dezin. “Its organic origin aligns perfectly with our commitment to using authentic, tactile materials that stand the test of time.”
This grey mohair became the grounding tone for the space—a quiet yet powerful neutral that elevates its surroundings. With a silk-like sheen and resistance to wear, mohair is more than just a pretty face. It’s the kind of fabric that invites you in and stands up to real life—ideal for a home where aesthetics and everyday comfort need to coexist.
Designed for Living
Who is this space for? It’s not about a singular user—it’s about the life that will unfold within it. “We really design for the home,” Ome Dezin shares. “But we’re always thinking about who might live there and how they move through their space.” This philosophy—design that anticipates real life—resonates deeply with us at DEN.
Dreaming Big
We couldn’t help but ask about the dream renovation project. The answer came without hesitation: “A massive French farmhouse. Allons-y!” (Say no more—we’re already picturing rustic beams, weathered stone, and wide-open vistas.)
And Because Every Sofa Deserves a Movie Night...
Design is serious business—but it should also be fun. We ended our chat with a cozy cue: favorite movie night pairings?
-
Jesse: M&M’s + popcorn. Movie: DUNE.
-
Joelle: Classic movie popcorn with butter. Movie: The Fifth Element.
The Kenter Sofa, designed to be as enduring as it is inviting, feels like the perfect place to land—whether you’re hosting guests, curling up with a good film, or simply admiring the view.
