Counter stool by Vista of California, c.1950s. This counter height stool features a newly powder coated tubular steel frame with a thinner strip of steel tubing serving as a mid-height structural support as well as a footrest. The stool also features new oiled solid African mahogany wood slats for the seat.
Based in Anaheim, CA and founded by Donald R. Bates and Jackson Gregory Jr., Vista of California was a seminal part of the California Modernism Design movement in the 1950s and 1960s. Notable designers such as Don Knorr designed pieces for Vista and it was branded as “Casual California Furniture.”
