Pair of bookends by Virginia Metal Crafters, USA, c.1950s. Each piece features a detailed, full-bodied chicken finished with a glossy, hand-painted chocolate brown and vibrant red coat. The figures are set against a semi-circular black cast iron backing designed to slide seamlessly under your favorite novels, cookbooks, or textbooks.
