Rand McNally “Cosmopolitan” Globe with Stand by Edward Wormley

An illuminating globe in a walnut stand designed by Edward Wormley (of Dunbar) for map company Rand McNally. Dubbed the “Cosmopolitan,” the globe has an X-base of four tapered walnut legs with brass feet, and a broad ring of walnut to support the globe, which rotates on two axes.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition; wood frame has been professionally cleaned and polished. Some subtle water stains on wood and brass has oxidized naturally. Based on geopolitical indicators, this globe dates to 1975.
